Some of the biggest issues when owning a BMW can come from cooling system components. Even through years of improvement, the same failure is seen with the plastic fittings and adapters from years of hot to cold temperature fluctuation. The N54 engine sees failure at the plastic cylinder head outlet adapter connecting the cylinder head to the thermostat hose. The stock plastic adapter simply shears off at the end of the barbed fitting, creating a massive coolant leak.

Installation Tips:
Remove two 10mm bolts.
Remove the old fitting from the engine block. The O-ring needs to be removed as well as it may get stuck inside.
Clean the outlet on the engine block. Remove any remaining pieces from the coolant hose.
Install the new fitting. Lubricate the seal O-ring before installation. Tighten the two 10 mm bolts.
Slide the coolant hose on the outlet port. Tighten the clamp.

This part fit my n54 very well

The oring was tight but it did go in when I added oil. I removed it again and the oring did not tear so it does work.

The part itself is great has a nice finish and tight tolerances with a good o ring.

Add grease to seal and housing to get item to seat correctly.

Great item. Easy install. Just put a thin coat of grease on the seal and put a thin coat of grease on the lip of the housing. Line it up, and the part will seat. Hold part. Install bolts tighten down with hand.
