Some of the biggest issues when owning a BMW can come from cooling system components. Even through years of improvement, the same failure is seen with the plastic fittings and adapters from years of hot to cold temperature fluctuation. The N54 engine sees failure at the plastic cylinder head outlet adapter connecting the cylinder head to the thermostat hose. The stock plastic adapter simply shears off at the end of the barbed fitting, creating a massive coolant leak.

Installation Tips:
Remove two 10mm bolts.
Remove the old fitting from the engine block. The O-ring needs to be removed as well as it may get stuck inside.
Clean the outlet on the engine block. Remove any remaining pieces from the coolant hose.
Install the new fitting. Lubricate the seal O-ring before installation. Tighten the two 10 mm bolts.
Slide the coolant hose on the outlet port. Tighten the clamp.

This is a clear upgrade over the low-quality OEM plastic part. It should be considered a maintenance item, as your stock plastic piece WILL fail eventually.

Perfect replacement

This part saved me the trouble of buying a whole hose for my 330i. The factory hose flange is part of the hose, and it was broken. The factory clamp was also broken. The hose is about an inch shorter, but it looks good. If you're replacing a leaking oil filter housing, you'll want to get one of these. But the price is amazing!

Better than original a lot

So far, so good. The OEM parts were more worn than I expected, so Im glad I replaced them. They perform as intended. Fit and finish look flawless. Ive only run a few hundred miles over the summer, but the hose clamps are holding tight, installed perfectly, and no leaks. The O-rings long-term condition remains to be seen, but so far, so good.
