The best-selling SUV in the U.S., the Honda CR-V, just dropped its all-new 2026 model. This isn't just a facelift—it's a full upgrade from tech features to off-road chops. They also introduced the TrailSport Hybrid trim for the first time. The 2026 CR-V boosts gear across the board, from the base LX to the top-tier Sport Touring Hybrid. Every model now sports a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, plus a wireless phone charging pad is included right out of the gate.
CR-V's high-end models EX-L, Sport-L Hybrid, TrailSport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid have been upgraded to a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, providing a more complete information display experience for drivers. Sport Touring Hybrid also introduces the Google Built-in system for the first time and enjoys three years of unlimited data usage, allowing digital life to be perfectly integrated with the driving experience.
The biggest standout is the launch of the new CR-V TrailSport Hybrid. It's Honda's first time dropping hybrid power in the TrailSport lineup, marking a key milestone in the CR-V's dual push toward light off-roading and electrification. The TrailSport Hybrid packs Honda's fourth-gen dual-motor hybrid system, cranking out 204 horsepower and 34.1 kg-meters of torque. It's not just fuel-efficient—it's got enough grunt to handle mountain roads and gravel trails. The full-time AWD system gets an upgrade, too. At low speeds (under 9 km/h) off-road, it can adjust torque and braking on the fly, mimicking a limited-slip diff, which seriously boosts its ability to get unstuck.
The all-new 2026 CR-V keeps its sleek, solid design language, while the hybrid model sports a more aggressive front and rear bumper plus exhaust tips, boosting its sporty vibe. The TrailSport exclusive car color Ash Green Metallic also debuted at the same time. It first appeared on the Passport TrailSport and has now become a new highlight of the CR-V family. Although the exterior does not have the reinforced suspension and metal underbody guard like the Passport TrailSport, the CR-V TrailSport still has a number of exclusive configurations, including the TrailSport exclusive Shark Gray 18-inch aluminum wheels, Continental all-terrain tires, silver front underbody guard trim and piano black rear spoiler, blackening treatment of the whole car and orange TrailSport emblems, and the car also uses exclusive equipment such as headrests and rubber floor mats embroidered with TrailSport words, combined with the standard sunroof, electric tailgate, heated front seats and heated steering wheel, and equipped with a 320W 8-speaker audio system, which is an upgrade from the corresponding model Sport Hybrid's 6-speaker system.
The 2026 CR-V is equipped with Honda Sensing driver assistance system, which includes advanced functions such as active braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, and automatic cruise control. In addition, the whole car is equipped with 10 airbags, including front knee airbags and rear side impact airbags, as well as rear seat belts and passenger reminders, to fully take care of every passenger in the car.
CR-V is not only one of Honda's main sales in the United States, but also jumped to become the fifth best-selling car model in the United States in 2024. According to Honda data, more than 50% of CR-V sales come from hybrid models, becoming the main force of the brand's electrification transformation. The 2026 CR-V will still be produced in three factories in North America, including East Liberty, Ohio, Indiana, and Alliston, Canada. The hybrid system and 2.0-liter engine are both manufactured locally in Ohio, reflecting Honda's brand concept of "local production and local service."
The 2026 Honda CR-V is expected to officially launch in North American showrooms this spring. Although the exact price hasn't been announced, it is estimated that the gas model will start around $32,000, and the hybrid version about $37,000. With the addition of the TrailSport trim and Google system, the CR-V sets a new benchmark, making this midsize SUV more competitive in the US market.
