5 Things You Should Know Before Buying LED Headlights

LED headlights are more and more popular due to the good outside look, small size, strong power, low energy consumption, and long life features. Compared with halogen and xenon headlights, the overall cost-effectiveness of led headlights is much higher.

If you’re going to replace your old headlight bulbs with LEDs, below are a few things you should know before buying them.

1. What led headlight fits my car?( Fitment)

Different car type requires different led bulbs, the also different position needs different position lights. Such as headlights, fog lights, brake lights, indicator lights, sidelights, and interior lights....! So the LEDs you find should be compatible with your vehicle. There are a few different ways that you can find out what fits your car needs for the particular type of bulb you want to purchase:

  • See your bulb socket
  • See your original bulb adapter
  • Checking your vehicle handbook
  • Or you can use the filter in our first page (not complete, please conatct me anytime if you couldn't find the suitable bulb type)

2. What LED headlight bulb color it is?

Even if it is not your first time knowing LED, you might have to know more about the “color temperature”
Actually, the color temperature totally does not depend on temperature. In other words: the higher color temperature doesn't mean the higher temperature of lighting. The unit of temperature is ℃ while the color temperature is Kevin(K).

The color temperature of LEDs can be changed from 3000k to 7000k by choosing different lamp beads to be changed.

3. Why most Led headlight is 6000K?

You’ll notice that leds are 6000k in the majority. Why?
LED is a cold light source. The advantages it brings are low calorific value, high brightness, stability, energy saving, and long life. The slight hue of blue in 6k bulbs looks awesome. It has penetrating power in the rain and fog, which makes you drive safer in the bad condition. Besides, It is said by the lighting engineer for Audi that 5700k is the best color for the human eye. In total, 6000k does not only mean environmentally friendly but also the ability to contribute brighter and safer.

4. What factors affect brightness brightness for LED headlights

There are two common units used to measure brightness total lumens and Lux. You can imagine lumens as the total weight of a table and Lux as the weight left on the single spot under one of its many legs.  We often use lumens during the LED bulb design, generally speaking, lumens are equal to efficacy. Efficacy is one of the most important ratings for Led. The most efficient and price friendly LED lamps have an efficacy of 200 lumens per watt. However when it comes to LED headlights, it's not just about total brightness, there is a unique Factor called beam pattern, so what it is?

5. What is the beam pattern?

Beam pattern is the angle of the light coming from your LED headlight, the correct angle safe for both you and other drivers. For you, you can see clearly the road that's usually where you want to go; and for coming drivers, who will not blinde their eyes. So ajust your beam pattern in correct position is so important.

Knowing the 5 things above, will help you better choosing the led bulbs.
